This is an amazing portion of the
Bible. These people preached in Jesus' name, cast out devils in Jesus'
name, and performed many wonderful works in Jesus' name; BUT, they all went to
Hellfire. Why? Because they failed to do the will of God, which is
plainly stated in John 6:40... “And this is the will of him that
sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have
everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
The world is filled today with
do-gooders, religious and non-religious alike. The Word of God teaches
that they'll all go straight to Hellfire if they don't obey the will of God. We are warned once again in 2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9...
“In flaming fire
taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of
our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction
from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.” Those do-gooders, no matter how much good they have done in this life, who
refuse to OBEY the Word of God, will be punished for eternity in the
tormentuous flames of Hell under the wrath of God.
Examples of Workers of Iniquity
According to Forbes: Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, and Angelina Jolie donated $58 million to charity in 12 months. Yet, these are three of the most Godless heathens on the planet.
Angelina Jolie (pictured to the right) is a Godless heathen bound for Hell if she doesn't repent toward God. She's a despicable Hollywood whore and marriage-wrecker. When asked “Is there a God?,"” Jolie responded...
“Hmm... For some people. I hope so, for them. For the people who believe in it, I hope so. There doesn't need to be a God for me. There's something in people that's spiritual, that's godlike. I don't feel like doing things just because people say things, but I also don't really know if it's better to just not believe in anything, either." —SOURCE
Oprah Winfrey is Miss New Age herself, leading millions of people into the fires of Hell with her damnable heresies. Oprah Winfrey is a New Ager, and has openly denied Jesus Christ as being the ONLY way to Heaven. See John 14:6.
Steven Spielberg's movies promote demonic spiritism, New Age, foul language, homosexuality, fornication, and nearly every other form of heathendom. Spielberg has stated...
"I want people to love my movies, and I'll be a whore to get them into the theaters."
Although giving $58 million to charity is a wonderful work, Oprah, Jolie, and Spielberg will one day be cast into the Lake of Fire if they don't repent, i.e., do the will of God (John 6:40). Get mad at God of you don't like it because He said it... “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). Oprah, Jolie, and Spielberg are workers of iniquity.
Another example: TV celebrity, Jerry Lewis, spent the latter decades of his life raising money for sick children with Muscular Dystrophy, which is certainly a wonderful work. However, the Bible proclaims that only those who obey the WILL OF GOD will be spared eternal damnation in the fires of Hell. John 3:36 plainly warns... “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” Anyone who does not believe on Jesus Christ as the ONLY way to Heaven (apart from all self-righteousness) is under the condemnation of God (John 3:36), destined for everlasting punishment in Hellfire (Revelation 20:11-15).
Frank Sinatra designated $200,000,000 in his will to help abused children when he died; BUT, Mr. Sinatra is most likely burning in Hellfire today, having died in his sins without Jesus Christ. Jesus stated in John 8:24... “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” It was Frank Sinatra who mocked the mighty evangelist, Billy Sunday, in his pathetic song, Chicago. Sinatra lived a life of wine, women, and song with no regard for the God of the Bible. How sad! How tragic!
I could list the names of several thousand great humanitarians throughout the centuries (religious and non-religious alike), who donated much of their life's time, money, and resources to help others; YET, they failed to do the WILL OF GOD concerning their soul and sin. They died in their sins without Christ, relying solely upon their own self-righteousness to deliver them on Judgment Day. Oh the deception and misery which self-righteousness brings upon the souls of men. When will mankind learn that salvation is of God alone? Romans 10:3,4 state... “For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” God is not impressed with one's good words, charitable contributions, or outstanding character as a means of meriting Heaven. We are all dirty, rotten, Hell-deserving, guilty, low-down sinners! This is clearly stated in Romans 3:10,19-23 and Isaiah 64:6.
Recent TV shows have glorified music
celebrities who have donated homes to poor families, and Hollywood
entertainers who have started charitable organizations for the needy. The TV cameras record the tears of the recipients and make the celebrities
look like such wonderful human beings. In reality, it's often nothing
more than a publicity stunt, a gimmick, which boosts the career of the
entertainer, and leads to higher profits. In reality, the celebrities
being honored are living for Satan—glorifying sinful living, singing the
Devil's music, dressing like pimps and whores, selling their souls for more
money, and corrupting America's youth with immoral values and heathen
philosophies [such as Toby Keith's repulsive song,
Get Drunk
And Be Somebody]. No Sir! Do the WILL OF GOD and be
somebody!!!
The World Today Abounds with Workers of Iniquity
The world is filled today with workers of iniquity, i.e., people who do good works in the world's eyes; BUT, they have not done God's will by obeying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This can become confusing at times for immature believers, and certainly for the unsaved, who cannot understand why a person who does good deeds their entire life could still go to Hell to be punished forever. The answer is very simple if one believes the Bible, for we read in Proverb 14:12...” There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Just as the sincere religious folks in Matthew 7:21-23, who found out the hard way that they “thought wrong,” so will many sincere people today (billions in fact) will find out at the Great White Throne of Judgment that they were DEAD WRONG.
It doesn't matter who you are, how much good you have done in your life, how little you've sinned, how many friends you have, how good of a parent you are, how faithful you've been to your church, or how much money you've donated to charity—You will be cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity if you don't obey the will of God, which again, is plainly stated in John 6:40... “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Do you realize your GUILT of sin? Do you realize that you justly deserve to be punished in Hellfire for those sins? If so, then you simply need to BELIEVE on Jesus as the Christ, i.e., as your personal Savior, to be saved. Jesus has paid the price for our sins with His own precious blood (1st Peter 1:18,19). You may have eternal life as a FREE GIFT (Romans 5:15; 6:23) because Jesus paid for it. You cannot earn or merit eternal life (as many false prophets teach today). Ephesians 2:8,9 state... “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” How much plainer could the Bible be? Thank God for the simplicity of salvation, that even a small child can comprehend. We are sinners, and Jesus is the Savior. It's that simple.
I plead with you, whoever you may be, to obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ while there is still hope for your soul. Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again for our justification; but, we must receive God's free gift of salvation by simply believing on the name of Jesus to forgive our sins. You see, the religious folks in Matthew 7:21-23 performed many wonderful works in Jesus' name, preached in Jesus' name, even cast out devils in Jesus' name; BUT they never actually BELIEVED on Jesus as the Savior. They were exploiting the name of Jesus for their own benefit (profit). The Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Church of Christ, Seventh Day Adventists, Charismatics, Catholics, Lutherans, and many other denominations today all exploit the name of Jesus. They are false religions. In one way or another they have ALL perverted the simple Gospel (Galatians 1:9; 2nd Corinthians 11:3).
To add any self-righteous work;
such as, water baptism, forsaking one's sins, keeping the Sabbath, persevering in
the faith, showing devotion to the virgin Mary, praying, joining a church or
organization, keeping sacraments, or anything else is blasphemy against the
plainest teachings of God's Word. If you realize your guilt and
condemnation of sin under God's Holy Law, and you repent, i.e., turn to the
Lord Jesus Christ in faith, trusting upon Him to forgive your sins, then you
will be SAVED! It is the precious blood of Jesus Christ that takes our
sins away forever, in response to our faith solely in Him, and nothing else. What a Wonderful Savior!
Conclusion
I did not write this article to be unkind, nor to be critical of the good deeds done by anyone. I wrote this article because the Bible is God's Word, and the Bible warns that even the most noblest and generous of people in this world WILL go to Hellfire if they die in their sins without Jesus Christ. John 8:24 states, “...for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” I once witnessed to an elderly Catholic woman, and showed her from the Bible that all Christ-rejecters will go to Hellfire (John 3:18; Revelation 20:15). She was a kind old woman, and had tears flowing from her eyes as she said to me... “God is love and would never send anyone to Hell for any reason.”
Though obviously sincere, she was dead wrong, and no doubt burning in the flames of Hell this moment. She leaned upon her own understanding, instead of believing the Word of God (Psalm 118:8). Proverb 3:5 instructs, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverb 14:12 warns, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
You'd better obey the Word of God, and not rely upon the lies of men, or your own faulty human reasoning...
